Team With SCF
If you are interested in launching your own We The People Campaign locally, but don’t want to take the time to develop all the elements needed to roll your own program, you can get started almost immediately by teaming with Sustainable Communities Foundation (SCFndn). SCFndn has developed a complete ecosystem called the Sustainable Communities Framework (SCF), designed to be replicated as many times as is necessary, across the country. Here’s what it includes:
Bank
A nationwide complementary currency bank called Universal Exchange (UNIEX) that can service many programs as needed throughout the country, at least one per state, each with their own local currency.
Marketplace
To facilitate the buying and selling of goods and services with those currencies, SCC has also developed an online marketplace called UNIEX Market. Each state will have its local version, divided into local markets similar to Craigslist. For example, here is the marketplace for Ohio.
Portal
To explain the program and provide instructions on getting enrolled in the system (UNIEX as multiple different kinds of user bank accounts seen here), visit the information and signup portal here. Get a quick feel for how all the components of the SCF system fit together by exploring this visual Guided Tour.
SCF State Partners
Because the Sustainable Communities Framework is so large and multi-faceted, Sustainable Communities Foundation has determined that it needs to partner with groups at both the state and local level in every state. This page introduces the idea of implementing the SCF in each state and how we will do so by teaming with a SCF State Partner in each state, who will assemble and manage the state-wide consortium of other non-profit organizations. See more details on State Partners here.
In order to implement the program effectively throughout the state, most SCF State Partners will need to establish multiple District Offices to carry out the goals of the State Partner on a local basis. And to complement the state organization, SCC will also team with Local Government Partners, to implement the SCF in their communities.
If you are interested in helping to organize your state’s effort, setup a District Office, or participate in the consortium, please get in touch with us as detailed here.
